At the origin of the journey were some questions. Where do I want to travel? Am I travelling alone, as a couple or in a group? How do I want to travel? - Independently of each other, in search of inspiration, we attended a lecture by an adventurer who had travelled through West Africa in his car. Afterwards, the idea began to germinate during further conversations. Immediately it was clear to undertake the journey with a car in order to have the greatest possible independence. In search of a potential drivable vehicle, we came across Dötnius - our Nissan Patrol Y60 built in 1990 - the third in the group. The route also became more and more clear. We are aiming for a round trip that will allow us to discover the entire African continent. For two years now, we have been in the preparatory phase, which consists to a large extent of the restoration and conversion work on our vehicle. Our curiosity to discover a continent that was completely unknown to both of us grew from day to day. In winter 2021/22, the day has finally come for us to set out as strangers into the unknown and to expand our awareness of the diversity of humanity.
